folk alternatives at a glance

folk is a simple relationship CRM from $24 per member a month billed annually, with a 2-week trial and no card. The alternatives that fit founders and small B2B teams best are Attio (free for up to 3 seats), Salesflare (from $29), Breakcold (from $79.20 a month), Pipedrive (from €14), HubSpot (free for up to 2 users) and GTM Flow, in early access.

Transparency note. This comparison is written by the GTM Flow team, and GTM Flow is one of the options on the list. We have tried to be fair to every tool, folk included, and we say where it wins. Prices are the public ones on each vendor's official site, checked on October 23, 2026, before tax. Every source is linked at the end.

  • To design your own data model, free to start: Attio.
  • For email and LinkedIn prospecting on a small budget: Salesflare.
  • For one inbox across email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Telegram, with outreach sent from another tool: Breakcold.
  • For a classic sales pipeline that works on day one: Pipedrive.
  • To start free with two users and grow into a full suite: HubSpot.
  • For prospecting by email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and calls on one record, with AI: GTM Flow, in early access.

Where folk wins (and why founders pick it)

folk wins on simplicity and on getting your contacts in fast: it syncs Google or Outlook contacts in real time, imports CSV files, adds LinkedIn and Sales Navigator profiles or whole searches with its folkX extension, and syncs email, calendar and WhatsApp from Standard. It is self-serve, with a 2-week trial of Premium and no card.

folk shows up again and again when founders ask for a CRM for startups or a CRM for LinkedIn, and for good reasons. You do not design a data model: you connect your mailbox, your contacts arrive, and you build lists. These are its plans today, from its pricing page:

folk planBilled annuallyBilled monthlyWhat it adds
Standard$24 / €22 per member$30 / €27Pipeline, email campaigns, email, calendar and WhatsApp sync, folkX, AI assistants
Premium$48 / €43 per member$60 / €54Email sequences, custom objects and deals, dashboards, API, full interaction history
EnterpriseFrom $80 / €67 per memberFrom $100 / €83Custom limits, security controls, dedicated account manager
folk pricing page, checked on October 23, 2026. Prices per member a month, shown in US dollars or euros. The 2-week trial starts at signup with Premium features and no credit card; the page does not publish a free plan.
  • Contacts in, fast. According to its help center, folk brings contacts in five ways: CSV upload, ongoing Google or Outlook sync, the folkX extension, Zapier and Make, and by hand.
  • LinkedIn capture. folkX adds a single profile or a whole LinkedIn or Sales Navigator search to folk, finds missing emails and lets you add people to the pipeline without leaving LinkedIn.
  • Low entry price. $24 per member a month billed annually already includes WhatsApp sync, email campaigns and AI assistants with monthly limits.
  • Self-serve today. You sign up, try Premium for two weeks with no card and pay by card, month to month if you prefer.
  • A mobile app, CSV export and Zapier and Make apps, listed for every plan.
  • Relationship features. Follow-up reminders, recaps, business card scanning and voice notes for people who sell through their network.

If you sell through relationships, manage a few dozen warm accounts and mostly need to remember who to follow up with, staying on folk is a sensible call. Our guide to the CRM for founders explains which kind of CRM fits each stage.

Why founders and small teams look for a folk alternative

Teams look beyond folk when they start prospecting rather than nurturing a network: email sequences, custom objects and deals sit on Premium ($48), Standard shares only the last 30 interactions, the pricing page lists no calling, and LinkedIn is a capture extension rather than a channel inside your sequences.

  • Sequences cost double. Email sequences start on Premium, at $48 per member a month billed annually, twice the Standard price.
  • History on Standard. The pricing page limits interaction sharing on Standard to the last 30 interactions; full history is a Premium feature.
  • Monthly allowances. Standard includes 500 email finds a month, 2,000 messages per member a month and 1 synced email account per member; Premium raises them to 1,000, 5,000 and 5.
  • No calling listed. The plan details do not include placing or recording phone calls.
  • LinkedIn as a source, not a step. folkX imports profiles and searches; the folkX page does not describe LinkedIn steps inside a sequence.

None of this makes folk a bad tool; it describes what folk is built for: an organized address book for relationship-led selling. If you are moving from your network to outbound and are not sure which channels you need, our guide to B2B prospecting tools walks through each one.

How to choose a folk alternative

To pick a folk alternative, answer five questions first: whether you nurture a network or go out and prospect, which channels must live on the same record, whether you want to design your own data model, which plan you will really need in six months, and whether you need to buy today or can wait for early access.

  1. Network or outbound. If most deals come from people you already know, a light CRM is enough. If you prospect strangers, look at sequences and sending limits first.
  2. Channels on the same record. Cold email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and calls: only some tools bring all four together.
  3. Custom model or standard process. Attio lets you shape objects; Pipedrive and HubSpot give you a ready-made pipeline.
  4. The real plan. Price the plan with sequences: folk Premium $48, Salesflare Pro $49, Pipedrive Growth €39, HubSpot Sales Hub Professional from $90 plus onboarding.
  5. Buy today or wait. Every option here is self-serve except GTM Flow, which is in early access.

A relationship address book or a CRM that prospects?

folk is excellent at organizing the people you already know. Founder-led sales usually hits a second phase: reaching out to accounts that do not know you, across several channels, and keeping the thread for months. There, sequences, sending limits and one history per account matter more than how fast contacts come in.

A founder who outgrows a light CRM often ends up paying for it plus a cold email tool, a LinkedIn tool and a phone line. A multichannel outreach CRM puts those channels in one sequence and one history. In GTM Flow, prospecting sequences and conversations on every channel share the record with the sales pipeline. It is in early access, in waitlist order; the planned pricing is public, and our comparison page covers the other options.

Which folk alternative to choose, by use case

The right folk alternative depends on how you sell. If your deals come from your network, stay on folk. To design your own model, Attio. For email and LinkedIn on a budget, Salesflare. For one inbox with outreach sent elsewhere, Breakcold. For a classic pipeline, Pipedrive or HubSpot. For multichannel prospecting with AI on one record, GTM Flow.

  • Stay on folk if you sell through relationships, value fast contact capture from Google, Outlook and LinkedIn, and do not need sequences or calls.
  • Attio if you want to shape the CRM yourself and start free with 3 seats; see our Attio alternatives.
  • Salesflare if you prospect mainly by email with LinkedIn on the side.
  • Breakcold if you already send outreach from another tool and want every conversation on the right deal.
  • Pipedrive or HubSpot if a standard sales pipeline comes first; see our Pipedrive and HubSpot comparisons.
  • GTM Flow if you prospect by email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and calls and want them on one record. You cannot buy it today: join the GTM Flow waitlist and we will write to you in signup order.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best folk CRM alternative?

It depends on why you are leaving. To design your own data model, Attio. For email and LinkedIn prospecting on a budget, Salesflare. For one inbox across chat apps, Breakcold. For a standard pipeline, Pipedrive or HubSpot. For prospecting by email, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and calls on one record, GTM Flow, which is in early access.

How much does folk CRM cost?

As of October 23, 2026, folk charges $24 per member a month on Standard, $48 on Premium and from $80 on Enterprise, billed annually ($30, $60 and from $100 billed monthly). In euros: €22, €43 and from €67 billed annually. Email sequences start on Premium.

Does folk have a free plan?

Its pricing page, checked on October 23, 2026, does not publish a free plan. It offers a 2-week trial with Premium features and no credit card; if you do not upgrade, the account is blocked but your data is kept. Attio (up to 3 seats) and HubSpot (up to 2 users) do have free plans.

Is folk good for LinkedIn?

For capturing contacts, yes: its folkX extension adds a LinkedIn or Sales Navigator profile or a whole search to folk and finds missing emails. Its folkX page does not describe LinkedIn steps inside a sequence. If you want LinkedIn inside the CRM as a step with per-profile limits, look at GTM Flow.

Is folk a good CRM for founders?

It is if you sell through your network and want a CRM that works on day one: contacts sync from Google or Outlook, LinkedIn profiles come in with one click and the entry price is low. It falls shorter once you prospect at volume, since sequences need Premium and calling is not listed. Our CRM for founders guide covers each stage.

Can I move my data from folk to another CRM?

Yes. According to its pricing page, every plan includes CSV import and export, and there are Zapier and Make apps. Every alternative on this list imports CSV files, GTM Flow included.
